    • Philips father was Joseph Means and he had 2 brothers John and Joseph.No clue yet to who his mother was. Philips name was Means to start with ,it is even on his REV War papers. Philip was a body guard for a time for George Washington. Carol Walsh - April 2003

      In his Revolutionary War Pension application on September 11, 1832, Philip stated that he had resided in Beaver County, Pennsylvania for thirty years. He lived in Viriginia prior to moving to Pennsylvania, also documented in his War Pension application.

      Philip spent the winter at Valley Forge with George Washington.I have his Military Record from Washington DC.He was in service 4 years and lost an eye at Germantown. I'll scan you a photo of his Rev War tombstone.I still haven't found much on Clory.Philip's father was Joseph Main and he had 2 brothers John and Joseph.No clue yet to who his mother was.
