Mrs. William Gibson, Sr.
Mrs. William, St., died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Margaret Frame, Thursday, June 26, at 3 a.m. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home of Mrs. Frame in Waterford. Rev. Samuel Johnson officiated. Two hymns, "Shall We Gather at the River" and "Nearer My God to Thee" were sung by Mrs. E. J. Sweeney and Mrs. Oscar Donaldson, accompanied by Miss Mary Seith. Internment was made in Oaklawn cemetery. Mary Elizabeth Hunter was born in Winchester, Canada, Oct 5, 1843 and lived there until in 1862, when she moved with her parents to Minnesota, settling on a farm in what was then known as Lewiston, Dakota county. Here she lived until 1870, when she was married to William Gibson of Medford. They made their home at Medford until 1898, when they moved to Waterford, where Mrs. Gibson continued to reside. Although failing in health for the last few years, she was able to be up and around, and was confined to her bed only one week before she died. Mrs. Gibson was a member of the Congregation church. She leaves to mourn her loss three sons and three daughters; W.W. Gibson and J.M. Gibson of Waterford, George M. Gibson of Northfield, Mrs. M.E. Pike of Muskegon, Mich., Mrs. Margaret Frame of Waterford, and Mrs. Mary Carpenter of Northfield. Her husband died in April 1920, and one daughter Barbara Isabel also preceded her in death. There are 23 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, and one brother, J.W. Hunter of Northfield. Those from away attending the funeral were: Mr. and Ms. William Frame and Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Law and two children of Muskegon, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. Dell Davis, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Wilson, Mr. and Mrs. William McDonald and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Neil Hankerson, Mrs. William Hankerson, Mrs. G.M. Flynn, Mrs. Effie Mann, Mrs. and Mrs. Ed Smith and son, and Mrs. P.R. Pike, all of Owatonna; C.W. Heath and Mrs. C. White of Medford, Miss Margaret Frame of Red Wing, and Mrs. George Frame of St. Paul.
